Sienna R. Craig is the Jane & Raphael Bernstein Professor in Asian Studies and Professor of Anthropology at Dartmouth College. She holds additional roles as House Professor of South House and affiliate of the Asian Societies, Cultures, and Languages Program, and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program. Her research focuses on medical anthropology, global health, and diaspora communities in South and East Asia, with fieldwork in Nepal, Tibetan regions of China, and diasporic communities in the U.S.
Education: B.A. Brown University (1995), M.A. and Ph.D. Cornell University (2002, 2006).
Research interests include translocal migration, women’s and children’s health, traditional medicine, and aging across cultures. Recent work examines the social lives of medicines and health practices in global contexts. Publications span medical anthropology, diaspora studies, and ethnographic writing.
Her work is affiliated with the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding. She advises students on topics intersecting health, migration, and cultural identity. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams on global health initiatives.
