Sidak Yntiso is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Rochester. His research focuses on American Politics, Political Economy, and Criminal Justice Politics, examining how political institutions shape racial inequities in criminal justice and electoral representation. He holds a Ph.D. in Politics from New York University (2022), an M.A. from NYU (2018), and a B.A. in Economics from NYU Abu Dhabi (2014).
Yntiso’s work has been published in Journal of Politics, Journal of Legal Studies, and Political Analysis. His research explores topics such as partisan gerrymandering, judicial accountability, and historical political economy. Notable awards include the Lee J. Alston Prize (2022) for his work on Reconstruction-era black representation.
He has served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy (2022-2023). His teaching includes courses on racial politics and criminal justice policy.
