Siarhei Manzhynski is an Associate Professor at the Umeå School of Business, Economics and Statistics (USBE) at Umeå University, specializing in Business Administration and Marketing. His research focuses on coopetition for sustainability, circular economy, and paradox management in cross-sectoral collaborations. He holds a Docent qualification and is recognized as a Distinguished university teacher.
His work examines how firms navigate tensions between competition and collaboration to achieve sustainability goals. A key project involves studying the Tomtebo Strand residential area project, where private and public actors collaborate to create a sustainable urban environment. He also explores responsible management education in Central and Eastern Europe, addressing institutional pressures and educational adoption.
Manzhynski’s research integrates system dynamics modeling to understand complex sustainability transitions and has contributed to frameworks like the 'knotted paradox' theory. He collaborates with international teams and serves in the ROBUST research institute, focusing on sustainable business transitions.
