Shunbin Ning

Dr. Shunbin Ning is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, specializing in viral oncogenesis and host immune interactions. He holds a PhD in Cell Biology from Wuhan University (2001) and completed postdoctoral training at the University of North Carolina (2002–2006). Prior to his current role, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Miami, contributing to research at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

His research focuses on the interplay between AIDS-related oncogenic viruses (EBV, HCV, HTLV1) and the host innate immune system, particularly mechanisms like Type I interferon response, DNA damage response (DDR), and autophagy. Recent work emphasizes viral contributions to cancers, immunosenescence, and immunotherapy targets.

Dr. Ning serves as Editor-in-Chief of The Open COVID Journal and editorial board member for journals like Annals of Clinical Virology and Trends in Immunotherapy. His scholarship addresses HIV-associated immune dysfunction, viral oncogenesis, and exosome-mediated signaling in chronic infections.
