Dr. Shruti Garg is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester and Honorary Specialist at Manchester Foundation Trust. She leads the regional Social Development Clinic and a specialist NF1 liaison service at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
Her research focuses on neurodevelopmental aspects of Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1), particularly the high prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorders in NF1 populations. She investigates behavioral phenotypes and develops interventions including non-invasive brain stimulation for cognitive impairments.
Current projects include NAMASTE (Global Health Research Unit on Neurodevelopment in South Asia) and Autism@Manchester. Her NIH-funded work examines developmental trajectories of ASD in NF1 and novel therapeutic approaches.
