Dr. Shreya Kumar is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Michigan Technological University and a B.E. in Computer Engineering from the University of Pune, India. Her research focuses on human-computer interaction, software engineering, and integrating ethics into computing curricula. She has been recognized with the 2024 ND Women in Engineering Impact Award.
Dr. Kumar teaches courses such as Ethics in Engineering, Principles of Computing, and Programming Paradigms. She directs the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) and leads service projects that partner with local nonprofits, including developing tools for senior citizens' digital literacy and ethics education initiatives. Her work emphasizes societal impact through computing education and inclusive technology adoption.
Her recent research explores ethics education through role-playing games, course visualization systems, and human-drone partnership design. She has published extensively on agile methodologies, communication in software development, and STEM education outreach.
