Sholnn Freeman is an Adjunct Professor at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University's Washington, D.C. campus. He concurrently serves as a senior communications specialist at Howard University. Freeman holds a Ph.D. in Communications from Howard University (2008) and a Bachelor's in Public Affairs Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin (1999). His professional career includes extensive journalism roles: former business reporter for The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post, Iraq correspondent for The Washington Post (2008), and intern at Bloomberg News. Notably, he was a Scotty Reston Fellow at The New York Times in 1999.
His expertise spans investigative journalism, international reporting, and media strategy. Freeman's career highlights include frontline reporting from Baghdad and impactful business journalism.
