Shiva Kumar

Dr. Shiva Kumar is a Professor and Associate Chair (Graduate Studies) in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at McMaster University. He holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Indian Institute of Science, India, and a Ph.D. from Osaka University, Japan. His research focuses on fiber optic communication systems, photonic devices, nonlinear optics, quantum communications, and system modeling. He is a Fellow of the Optical Society of America (now Optica).

Research interests include fiber optic systems, photonic devices, quantum communications, and nonlinear phenomena like stimulated Raman scattering and optical solitons.
