Dr. Shirley Lim is a Professor in the Department of History at Stony Brook University (Ph.D., UCLA, 1998). She serves as affiliate faculty in Women and Gender Studies, Asian and Asian American Studies, and Africana Studies.
Her research focuses on 20th-century U.S. history through intersectional lenses of Asian-American experiences, cultural history, and gender studies. Notable works include A Feeling of Belonging (2006) which examines Asian American women’s public culture, and Anna May Wong: Performing the Modern (2019) which analyzes diasporic identity and media representation.
