Shirley Jordan

Professor Shirley Jordan serves as faculty in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures within the School of Languages, Linguistics and Film at Queen Mary University of London. She was appointed Co-Director of the Centre for the Study of Contemporary Women's Writing (CCWW) at the Institute of Modern Languages Research in September 2016, focusing on promoting international research in contemporary women's literature across French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish language contexts.

Her research centers on comparative analysis of post-1968 literary works by women, emphasizing cross-cultural dialogue and the French-language dimension within the CCWW framework. She actively develops scholarly programming including symposia, seminars, and author readings to advance the study of contemporary women's writing through collaborative international initiatives.
