About
Dr. Shirleen LO is a Research Fellow at the Energy Studies Institute (ESI), National University of Singapore, since March 2024. She holds a Ph.D. (2023) and a Bachelor’s Degree (2019) in Chemical Engineering from Swinburne University of Technology (Sarawak Campus). Her research focuses on decarbonization strategies, techno-economic analysis, P-graph modelling, renewable energy supply chain design, and stochastic modelling techniques. Prior to ESI, she worked as a Process Engineer and conducted industrial research collaborations as a Research Assistant.
Her work emphasizes addressing supply chain uncertainties through stochastic economic evaluation and graph-theoretic methods. Key contributions include hybrid approaches for resilient microalgae supply chains and multi-period stochastic models for biomass gasification systems. She has extensive experience in Monte Carlo simulation for bio-hydrogen supply networks and reviews on biomass supply chain optimization.
Dr. LO’s research spans energy systems, biofuel production, and circular economy frameworks. Her articles highlight advancements in energy planning through cooperative game theory and contingency analysis. She maintains active engagement with industry through collaborative research and has published widely in journals like Cleaner Engineering and Technology, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, and Chemical Engineering Transactions.
