Shien Chue is a Research Scientist at CRADLE@NTU, affiliated with the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU). She holds a PhD in Science Education from NIE (supported by the NTU Research Scholarship), an MA in English Studies from the National University of Singapore (NUS), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from NIE. Her career spans K-12 chemistry teaching, adult education in applied linguistics, and medical pedagogy using team-based learning.
Her research focuses on sociocultural learning concepts, particularly in work-integrated education, communities of practice, and multimodal literacy. Current projects examine transitions from school to work, workplace learning dynamics, and curriculum innovations. She employs qualitative methods like interaction analysis and visual/discourse analysis to bridge theory and practice.
Recent publications highlight internship challenges in epistemic spaces, sociomaterial affordances in hybrid workplaces, and boundary objects in learning crises. Her work emphasizes Singapore's educational policies and institutional frameworks for continuous learning.
