Sheryl Grant

Sheryl Grant (she/her) is a part-time Instructor in the Journalism, Writing and Publishing Program at the University of King’s College. With over 40 years of journalism experience, she transitioned from traditional reporting and newsroom leadership at the Halifax Chronicle Herald to digital innovation roles, including directing app development, analytics implementation, and paywall strategy. She returned as Managing Editor for the Herald until 2022 before focusing on academia and creative projects.

Education: BA from Dalhousie University and BJ(Hons) from Vind.

Her professional journey emphasizes bridging journalism’s traditional and digital realms. Current projects include co-producing a documentary film with Shortworks Productions on Canada’s first integrated preschool.
