Sheryl Foster

Sheryl Foster is a Lecturer in the Discipline of Medical Imaging Science at the Sydney School of Health Sciences, University of Sydney. She holds dual roles as Unit of Study Coordinator for the Master of Imaging Science program and MRI research department head at Westmead Hospital Radiology. Her expertise spans clinical and research MRI applications, with a focus on pediatric neuroimaging, functional neurological disorders, and translational kidney disease research.

Dr. Foster’s research integrates fMRI, spectroscopy, and advanced MRI techniques to study mood disorders, binge eating, ADHD, and FND in youth. She collaborates internationally, notably with Harvard’s Center for Clinical Spectroscopy. Her educational contributions include pioneering three MR units in Sydney’s postgraduate imaging program and teaching MRI safety/protocols to undergraduates and physics students.
