Professor Sherilyn MacGregor is a leading scholar in environmental politics at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the Department of Politics and the Sustainable Consumption Institute. She specializes in gender equality and climate justice, holding a prestigious £9.7 million ESRC-funded research center (JUST) from 2025–2030. Her work spans monographs like Beyond Mothering Earth (2006), edited volumes such as the Routledge Handbook of Gender and Environment (2017), and influential reports like 'Caring in a Changing Climate' (2022).
Her research integrates interdisciplinary approaches to address social and environmental inequalities, including funded projects on climate finance in the Brazilian Amazon and inclusive environmental sustainability. She has held roles at Keele University and Lancaster University, and served as Editor of Environmental Politics since 2020.
