Shengxi Huang

Shengxi Huang is an Assistant Professor affiliated with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Biomedical Engineering, and Materials Research Institute at Penn State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT (2017) and completed postdoctoral research at Stanford University.

• Education: Ph.D. from MIT, B.S. with highest honors from Tsinghua University

Her research focuses on light-matter interactions of quantum materials, machine learning for nanomaterials and biosample analysis, and smart biochemical sensors. She applies AI to classify Alzheimer’s disease and enhance Raman spectroscopy sensitivity.

Notable awards include the NSF CAREER Award and Johnson & Johnson STEM2D Scholar’s Award. Funded projects involve collaborations with Johnson & Johnson (Ubiquitous Sensing) and NSF (Virus Evolution via Deep Raman Spectroscopy).
