Shemar Woods

Shemar Woods serves as a Professor of Practice at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Concurrently, he is a master’s candidate in Sports Law and Business at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law. His professional roles include advising the National Association of Black Journalists student chapter at Cronkite.

He holds extensive media leadership experience, previously担任 Senior Editor and Editorial Director at Sports Illustrated, overseeing newsroom operations. Earlier roles included leadership positions at The New York Daily News, ESPN New York, ESPN, MLB.com as Homepage Editor, and Digital Sports Director at The Philadelphia Inquirer.

His expertise spans editorial management, sports media strategy, and the intersection of law with sports business. Woods combines academic teaching with ongoing legal studies to inform modern journalism practices.
