Shelli Henehan

Dr. Shelli Henehan is a Professor and Director of Early Childhood Education at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith's School of Education. She serves as faculty co-chair for the Committee for Assessment of Learning Outcomes (CALO) and holds an Arkansas teaching license for Pre-K through 6th grade.

• Research Focus: Cultural institutions, early childhood curricula, transformative learning strategies, and educational assessment methodologies.
• Service: Current on-site educator preparation program reviewer for Arkansas Department of Education; former peer-reviewer for CAEP (2015-2022) and NAEYC's ECADA program (2008-2016).
• Grants: Secured state funding for professional development programs targeting adult women and curriculum development for early childhood educators.

Her academic background includes an Ed.D. in Workforce Development/Adult Education from the University of Arkansas (2011), M.Ed. in Education (1995), and prior degrees in Elementary Education and Education from Arkansas Tech University and Westark Community College respectively.
