Sheldon Zandboer

Sheldon Zandboer is a Jazz Piano Faculty member at the Mount Royal College Conservatory, Department of Music at Mount Royal University. He is also a freelance musician, part-time audio consultant at Critical Mass, and proprietor of Zandstorm Studio. His career spans decades of musical excellence across diverse genres and platforms.

Research & Creativity: Zandboer excels in jazz piano, composing, arranging, and multimedia audio design. He has composed for film (e.g., BRAVO Channel's Bellyboat Hustle), theater, and web-based projects for clients like Mercedes Benz and Disney. His musical groups include Bossagogo (Brazilian jazz trio) and Chill Factor (electronic chillout).

Recognition: Awarded 1st Prize three years consecutively in Calgary Kiwanis Music Festival's jazz category. His film work appears in MoMA's permanent collection.

Professional Contributions: Served as Music Director for Decidedly Jazz's Dancers & Other Musical Instruments, staff arranger for Department of National Defense, and toured internationally with Who's Tommy. Active in Calgary's music scene since the 1980s.
