Shawnboda Mead

Dr. Shawnboda Mead is the Vice Chancellor for Access, Opportunity, and Community Engagement (DAOCE) at the University of Mississippi. She leads initiatives to expand educational access, foster inclusive campus environments, and enhance community partnerships. Additionally, she serves as a Staff Instructor.

• Ed.D. in Higher Education, University of Mississippi (2019)

Her professional focus centers on diversity leadership, institutional equity, and student success. She has held roles at multiple universities, including director of the Center for Inclusion and Cross Cultural Engagement at UM since 2014 and Assistant Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion (2018–2021).

Dr. Mead is a former president of the Southern Association for College Student Affairs (SACSA) and has received multiple leadership awards. She actively contributes to regional and national higher education organizations.

Her work emphasizes community engagement, policy advocacy, and fostering inclusive educational ecosystems. She collaborates with state and national stakeholders to advance institutional diversity goals.
