Shawn Roy

Shawn Roy is a Master Instructor and the Director of Opera and Musical Theatre studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he also serves as the Coordinator for the Vocal Arts Area in the School of Music and Performing Arts. He holds the Drs. Chuck and Sue Lein BORSP Professorship in Music.

His educational background:

• Bachelor of Music Education (BME) from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (1980)
• Master of Music (MM) from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music
• Artist Diploma in Opera from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music

Shawn Roy's research and professional interests focus on Voice Performance, Opera Direction, Musical Theatre, and Vocal Pedagogy. He has extensive experience as a performer in opera and musical theatre with companies across the United States and internationally, and he brings this expertise to his teaching and directing.
