Shawn Kerivan

Shawn Kerivan is a Professor of Writing at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), holding an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Goddard College. His career includes roles as an innkeeper, writer, editor, and educator at multiple institutions including Community College of Vermont and Johnson State College.

His research explores narrative structures in fiction/nonfiction and pedagogical approaches to creative writing. Recent publications (2022) examine maritime psychology and personal memoir, while academic work investigates grammar's role in creative expression.

Kerivan founded The Vermont Press collective and has organized workshops including the Roundtable Writers Conference, focusing on nature writing and community storytelling.
