Shaun Larcom is Professor of Law, Economics and Institutions at the University of Cambridge's Department of Land Economy, with affiliations at the Conservation Research Institute and Cambridge Centre for Environment, Energy and Natural Resource Governance (C-EENRG). Previously an Economist at the Australian Treasury, he holds a PhD in Law from University College London, an MPhil in Environmental Policy from Cambridge, and a First Class Honours in Economics from the University of Melbourne.
His interdisciplinary research focuses on:
- Environmental economics and policy design
- Legal pluralism and institutional interactions
- Crisis adaptation and behavioral responses to shocks
- Law-economics intersections and compliance mechanisms
Professor Larcom teaches Environmental Economics and Law, Law and Economics, and Fundamentals of Environmental Economics. He currently advises PhD students Maka Tounkara and Siyue Ouyang, having recently supervised Sam Vosper. His research group collaborates within the Conservation Research Institute's interdisciplinary framework on sustainability governance challenges.
