About
Dr. Shashi Gujar is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Pathology, Microbiology & Immunology, and Biology at Dalhousie University. His research focuses on developing precision cancer immunotherapies using oncolytic viruses, which both directly kill cancer cells and stimulate anti-tumor immune responses. Key areas include oncolytic virotherapy, immunometabolism, and proteo-immuno-metabolomics. He leads the Laboratory for Cancer Metabolism, Cell Biology & Immunotherapies and collaborates across disciplines to advance translational research.
Research Interests: Oncolytic viruses, cancer immunotherapies, immuno-metabolism, myeloma genomics, and applied immunomics. His lab develops cutting-edge platforms combining immunology, metabolism, and multi-omic technologies to discover next-gen therapies.
Publications: Over 20 peer-reviewed articles since 2017, including high-impact journals like Cell, Cancer Research, and Journal of Proteome Research. Key themes include viral mechanisms, metabolic pathways in cancer, and MHC ligandome analysis.
Lab & Team: The Gujar Lab actively recruits graduate students and postdocs interested in cancer immunology. They emphasize innovation in virotherapy, immunometabolism, and proteomics. Collaborations span oncology, biochemistry, and clinical medicine.
