Sharon Wright is a Professor of History at St. Thomas More College, with a focus on Medieval Britain (1000–1500), Women’s History, and Manuscript Studies. She serves as Director of Classical, Medieval, and Renaissance Studies and Acting Head of the History Department.
- Education: B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from the University of Toronto
Her research explores medieval magic practitioners, gender dynamics in legal records, and the provenance of manuscripts and early printed books in Canadian collections. She leads the SSHRC-funded MAEPbooks project and has authored influential publications on topics such as Tudor magic, peasant women’s historiography, and manuscript transmission.
She has held administrative roles, including Faculty Representative to St. Thomas More College Board of Governors, and contributes to editorial boards of the Canadian Journal of History and Opuscula. Her grants include SSHRC Insight and Standard Research Grants.
