Sharon Vince

Dr. Sharon Vince is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for Education Studies at the University of West London's School of Human and Social Sciences. With 15 years of teaching experience in early years and key stage one education, she completed her Masters and PhD in Early Years Education at the UCL Institute of Education.

Sharon's research interests focus on education policy enactment, the reproduction of educational inequalities, and the interactions between education and wider social policies. She examines how early years funding policies impact children, practitioners, and educational settings, with particular attention to power dynamics and policy implementation.

Her recent publications reveal a strong focus on how educational institutions respond to social crises, particularly food insecurity and poverty. Her research demonstrates how school-based food banks affect children's learning engagement, wellbeing, and participation while addressing systemic issues of educational inequality.
