Sharon Stein is a Professor of Psychology and Program Coordinator of Psychology at Ferrum College. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Psychology from Ohio University and a B.S. in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Stein's research focuses on developmental psychology, with emphasis on learning disabilities, social-perceptual development, and pedagogy in higher education. Her work bridges cognitive theory with applied teaching strategies, particularly in critical thinking and educational methods for children and college students.
Advising and Community Engagement: Dr. Stein has mentored undergraduate and graduate research projects and has extensive community service experience, including roles as chair of a nonprofit preschool board, chair of the Education Committee of Temple Emanuel, and member of a Child Protection Team. She is also a former foster parent.
