Sharon Sanders

Sharon Sanders is an Assistant Professor at Bond University, holding dual appointments in the Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare and the Faculty of Health Sciences & Medicine. Her work focuses on systematic reviews, clinical decision rules, and evidence synthesis across diverse health domains, including musculoskeletal disorders, infectious diseases, and public health policy. She has contributed to over 70 peer-reviewed publications and actively collaborates internationally on guideline development and healthcare policy initiatives.

Her doctoral research (2016) explored clinical prediction rules for diagnosis, and she continues to lead projects addressing diagnostic accuracy, overdiagnosis, and telehealth impacts. Notable projects include analyses of imaging abnormalities in asymptomatic shoulders, the role of clinical trials during the COVID-19 pandemic, and optimizing diagnostic strategies for conditions like pharyngitis and gestational diabetes.

Research interests include strengthening healthcare decision-making through rigorous evidence, improving diagnostic practices, and evaluating nonpharmacological interventions. Collaborations span institutions globally, with a focus on translating research into actionable guidelines for clinicians and policymakers.
