Shanne McCaffrey

Shanne McCaffrey is a Teaching Professor in the School of Child and Youth Care at the University of Victoria. She holds a BEd from the University of Saskatchewan and an MA from UVic. As faculty lead for the Indigenous Student Support Centre since July 2017, her work emphasizes decolonial practices and environmental stewardship.

Her research focuses on Land and Water-based learning methodologies, child welfare systems critique, and the intersection of colonialism with environmental preservation. McCaffrey's interdisciplinary approach integrates Indigenous knowledges with ecological activism, emphasizing relationships between humans and non-human relatives.
