Shankar Venkat

Dr. Shankar Venkat is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Division Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at East Carolina University's School of Dental Medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Sri Ramachandra Dental College and completed advanced training in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the University of Florida College of Dentistry.

His research focuses on diagnostic pathology of oral diseases, with particular expertise in salivary gland tumors, odontogenic tumors, and oral mucosal lesions. Dr. Venkat maintains active research collaborations investigating molecular markers in head and neck pathology.

Dr. Venkat's recent publications demonstrate his focus on rare oral pathologies and diagnostic challenges. His work integrates clinical case studies with comprehensive literature reviews to advance diagnostic criteria and treatment approaches in oral pathology.
