Shaney Barrett

Shaney Barrett is an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Bristol, affiliated with the Bristol Medical School and the Academic Respiratory Unit. She is a Consultant Respiratory Physician who co-leads the Bristol Interstitial Lung Disease (BILD) Centre, a tertiary referral center managing over 1000 ILD referrals annually.

• PhD (2016) in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis with Wellcome Trust Research Training Fellowship

Her research focuses on understanding mechanisms underpinning interstitial lung disease pathology through clinical and basic science studies. She contributes to translational research at the intersection of respiratory medicine, clinical science, and biomedical disciplines.
