Brigadier General Shane Reeves serves as the 15th Dean of the Academic Board and holds the rank of Professor in the Law Department at the United States Military Academy. He earned a Juris Doctor from the College of William and Mary, a Master of Laws in Military Law, and a Bachelor of Science from West Point. His legal career spans military law practice, judicial advocacy, and academia.
Reeves has taught at the U.S. Military Academy for over a decade, focusing on International Law and the Law of Armed Conflict. He has lectured globally, including at Columbia Law School, UC Berkeley, and institutions in Israel. As a legal scholar, he authored over 30 articles in journals like the Harvard International Review, Texas Law Review, and Berkeley Journal of International Law, and edited major publications including U.S. Military Operations: Law, Policy, and Practice.
