Shane Goodwin

Dr. Shane Goodwin is a Full-Time Faculty member at Southern Methodist University, serving as Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and Executive Education and as a Professor of Practice in the Department of Finance at the Cox School of Business. He also teaches courses at Dedman Law School at SMU.

• Education: Ph.D. in Business Administration (Oklahoma State University), MBA (Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University), BSBA (Collins College of Business, University of Tulsa).

Research Interests focus on Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Governance, Shareholder Activism, and Private Equity. His work includes the creation of the Goodwin Chakraborty Activist Index™, cited by Bloomberg and other journals.

He has also worked extensively in M&A and investment banking at firms like Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo Securities.
