Shamim Miah

Dr. Shamim Miah is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Education, School of Business, Education and Law, University of Huddersfield. He is affiliated with the Huddersfield Centre for Research in Education and Society (HudCRES) and the Secure Societies Institute.

His research focuses on the framing of race and religion in policy, empirical and theoretical approaches to public policy, race and education policy, Muslims in Britain, Ibn Khaldun’s social theory, and Muslim intellectual history. His work intersects with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in social justice and inclusive education.

Key themes from his publications include decolonial knowledge production, postnormal epistemology, multiculturalism, and critical analyses of security policies.
