Seymer Alexander

Dr. Alexander Seymer is a Senior Lecturer and former Senior Scientist at the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, Department of Sociology and Human Geography. He holds a Dr.phil. in Sociology from the University of Salzburg, an MSc in Social Policy Analysis from the University of Leuven, and a Diploma in Sociology from the University of Leipzig. His research focuses on public opinion dynamics, personal values, welfare state analysis, and quantitative methodologies, particularly structural equation modeling and R programming. He has collaborated on projects like the Values in Crisis Study and the PAIS initiative, examining caregiving in dementia and pandemic impacts. His work bridges social science theory with practical applications in policy and healthcare. Seymer is currently on leave of absence but continues teaching statistics and research methods at the University of Salzburg and Paracelsus Medical University.
