Severin Rapp

Severin Rapp is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Stone Center on Socio-Economic Inequality, CUNY Graduate Center (2024-2026). He completed his PhD at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, where he concurrently worked as an economist at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and as a consultant for the Austrian National Bank and other organizations.

His research program centers on demographic economics, household finance, and wealth distribution with particular emphasis on improving evidence regarding wealth inequality and intergenerational transfers. Rapp develops methodologies for unearthing new data sources and creating tools to make wealth data comparable across countries and populations. His work bridges behavioral economics with traditional economic analysis of wealth distribution.
