Seunghoon Han

Seunghoon Han, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the College of Education at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). His work focuses on critical approaches to social studies education, examining identity, citizenship, and belonging through curriculum and pedagogy. He holds a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with a minor in Comparative and International Education from Pennsylvania State University.

• Education: BEd and MEd in Elementary Education/Social Studies from Seoul National University of Education.
• Research Interests: Qualitative methodologies exploring education's connections to social/cultural issues.

Han emphasizes teaching as both an intellectual and ethical practice, fostering critical reflection and relational awareness in educators. His collaborative philosophy aligns with UNI’s mission to prepare reflective educators.
