Seunghee Back serves as a Lecturer at Yale University, teaching Korean language from her office at 434 Temple St. Rm 301N. She holds advanced degrees in Korean Linguistics and Language Education from Sangmyung University in Seoul.
Her educational background includes a B.A. in Korean Language Education, M.A. and Ph.D. in Korean Linguistics from Sangmyung University. Prior academic appointments include teaching positions at Columbia University, New York University, and Sangmyung University before joining Yale.
Dr. Back's research centers on Korean Textbook Development and Korean Language and Culture Education. She has made significant contributions through textbook development for the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation and co-researched curriculum materials for overseas Korean communities.
Professional contributions include core membership in national textbook development projects and publication of multiple Korean language teaching resources. Her work focuses on practical applications for Korean language pedagogy in international contexts.
