Serkan Şavk

Serkan Şavk is an Assistant Professor at Izmir University of Economics, affiliated with the Faculty of Communication, Department of Cinema and Digital Media. He serves as the Double Major and Minor Coordinator and is a member of the Internship Committee.

• Education: PhD in History (Hacettepe University, 2014), MA in History (Hacettepe University, 2007), BA in Public Relations (Ankara University, 2003)
• Research Interests: Image-space relations, Ottoman cultural history, digital humanities, and Turkish cinema

Recent Publications include analyses of Yeşilçam cinema, AI in screenwriting, and early modern Istanbul's spatial structure. He has received scholarships from IFEA and TÜBİTAK, and contributed to transnational cinema studies through editorial and conference work.
