About
Dr. Sergio Brutti is an Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry at Sapienza University of Rome's Department of Chemistry. He holds a Master's in Chemistry (2000) and PhD (2004) from Sapienza University, with postdoctoral research at Oxford, St. Andrews, and CNR-ISMN. His research integrates experimental and computational approaches to develop energy materials.
His group investigates solid-state chemistry for lithium/sodium batteries, fuel cells, and supercapacitors using characterization techniques including XRD, TEM, XPS, and DFT modeling. Current projects focus on electrode degradation mechanisms, alkaline metal interfaces, and biomass-derived nanomaterials.
Dr. Brutti leads multiple national projects and has authored over 89 publications. He teaches General Chemistry and Physical Chemistry courses, maintaining an active research group developing next-generation battery technologies.
