Serap Toprak

Serap Toprak is a Professor of General Turkish History at the Department of General Turkish History, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University. She previously held roles as Department Head and Associate Professor at Bitlis Eren University. Her research focuses on political history, Turkish foreign policy, and Balkan history. She teaches courses such as 19th-Century Balkan History, Turkish-Russian Relations, and Pre-Islamic Turkish History.

She has supervised 6 theses, including studies on Balkan migrations, Ottoman military reforms, and Turkish foreign policy under Atatürk. Her publications include books like Nationalism Movements in the Balkans in the 19th Century and over 20 articles on topics like Ottoman-Albanian relations and Russian Balkan policies. She frequently participates in international conferences and serves on editorial boards and as a referee for journals.

Administrative roles include membership in Bologna Coordination Commissions and various university boards. Her work bridges Ottoman history with modern geopolitical dynamics, emphasizing migration patterns, colonial legacies, and diplomatic strategies.
