Professor Senthilarasu Sundaram leads sustainable energy materials research at Teesside University's School of Computing, Engineering and Digital Technologies. With over 250 publications, his work focuses on renewable energy technologies including thin-film photovoltaics, perovskite solar cells, and wastewater remediation. He directs multiple EPSRC-funded projects like JUICE and n-CoSH, and holds visiting professorships at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and University of Madras.
His research spans solar energy conversion, sustainable materials synthesis, heavy metal removal using graphene membranes, and low-carbon heating applications. Current initiatives include textile wastewater treatment programs for developing countries and agro-residue hydrogen synthesis.
Education includes a PhD from Bharathiar University and master's degrees from PSG College of Technology. Major honors include Royal Academy of Engineering grants and UKIERI funding for sustainable energy curriculum development.
