Senetta Bancroft is an Associate Professor in the Department of Early Childhood, Elementary Education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Her expertise lies in science teacher professional development, qualitative research methods, and the application of critical theories to science education. She coordinates the Science program with a biological sciences specialty and serves on the Equity and Ethics Committee for the National Association for Research in Science Teaching (NARST).

Notable achievements include her IGERT Fellowship in Chemistry at Duke University. Dr. Bancroft has prior teaching experience at Derby High School (Kansas) and Queen’s College (Guyana).
