Semra Hasançebi

Semra Hasançebi is a Professor at Trakya University's Faculty of Engineering, Department of Genetics and Bioengineering. Her career spans roles as an Assistant Professor (2014), Associate Professor (2015), and Professor (2021), with prior research positions at TÜBİTAK MRC Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Institute (2006) and Yildiz Technical University (2001).

Her research focuses on plant genetics, disease resistance, and molecular marker development, particularly in wheat and sunflower. She has contributed to studies on T-DNA insertion mutants, rust resistance mechanisms, and proteomic profiling of plant-pathogen interactions.

Recent publications highlight her work on loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) assays for sunflower mildew detection, functional analysis of rust effector genes, and optimization of molecular markers for crop breeding. These span plant pathology, bioinformatics, and biotechnology subfields.
