Sema Geyin

Sema Geyin is an Assistant Professor currently serving as Head of the Department of Recitation since September 6, 2017. She has been affiliated with the Seminary since 2017 and previously worked at the Presidency of Religious Affairs, teaching Quran courses from 2006 to 2017.

• PhD: Uludag University (2011) - Thesis: The Commentary Views of Muhammad Farid Vecdi, One of the Latest Era Commentators

Her research focuses on Quranic hermeneutics, theological interpretations of Islamic texts, and the role of desire in religious discourse. She works on classical and modern exegesis (Tafsir) traditions, emphasizing the intersection of theology, ethics, and Quranic recitation practices.

As Head of the Department of Recitation, she oversees academic and administrative operations related to Quranic education and pedagogical methodologies. Her career spans both academic and practical engagement with Islamic studies, merging scholarly analysis with religious instruction.
