Selene Ghisolfi is an Assistant Professor at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, Italy, and an affiliate of the LEAP (Laboratory for Effective Anti-poverty Policies) and SI (Social Inclusion) Lab at Bocconi University. She holds a PhD in Economics from the Institute for International Economic Studies at Stockholm University. Her research focuses on Development Economics, Behavioral Economics, and Social Norms, with a particular emphasis on agricultural markets, education policy, fairness preferences, and bargaining dynamics.
Her work involves randomized control trials (RCTs) and field/laboratory experiments conducted in Italy, Bangladesh, Uganda, India, and South Africa. She has also studied the impact of the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic on low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Ghisolfi’s interdisciplinary approach bridges economic theory with practical policy evaluation, aiming to understand how fairness and social norms influence development outcomes and technology adoption in agricultural sectors.
