About
Selda Sherifova is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Biomechanics, Graz University of Technology. She earned her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Graz University of Technology (2019, with distinction), an M.Sc. in Medical Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Bogazici University.
- Biomechanics of human thoracic aortic tissues
- Constitutive modeling of arteries
- Microstructural analysis of collagen fibers
- Experimental mechanical testing of vascular tissues
Research Highlights
Her work focuses on biomechanical characterization of aortic diseases, including aneurysms and dissections. She employs advanced microstructural analysis and computational modeling to study tissue failure mechanisms.
