Dr. Sefi Roth is Associate Professor of Environmental Economics at LSE's Department of Geography and Environment. He founded and co-leads the Economics of Air Pollution research group at Grantham Research Institute, examining impacts of air pollution on health, crime, housing markets, and human capital.
His research demonstrates connections between pollution exposure and cognitive performance degradation, economic productivity, and criminal behavior patterns. Current projects analyze indoor air quality valuation and urban density effects on pollution dispersion.
Professor Roth serves on the UK Clean Air Programme Steering Committee and leads the 'Clean Air Community' task force. He received multiple teaching excellence awards and has supervised doctoral students now at Columbia, Penn State, and UCSB.
