Seena Haines is a Professor of Pharmacy Practice and the Director of Professional Wellbeing and Belonging at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. She is based at the UMMC campus and holds a leadership role in promoting resilience, well-being, and inclusion across the School of Pharmacy community.
Education:
- PharmD in Pharmacy from Nova Southeastern University (2000)
Her research and professional expertise lie in workforce well-being, resilience, and applied positive psychology. She integrates coaching psychology and mindfulness into her work, focusing on individual, team, and organizational levels. As a nationally board-certified health and wellness coach (NBC-HWC) and certified well-being coach, she brings evidence-based practices to academic and healthcare settings. Her work is informed by certifications in trauma and resilience, mental health first aid, QPR training, and mindfulness teaching.
Dr. Haines has secured substantial research funding, with total grant support exceeding $7 million, including two HRSA-funded well-being grants. She serves as a lead implementation coach for the Well-Being Ambassador program in collaboration with UMMC and the American Association of Health-System Pharmacists.

Dr. Haines has held significant leadership roles, including Department Chair of Pharmacy Practice (2016–2022) and previous Senior Associate Dean for Faculty at Palm Beach Atlantic University. She is actively involved in national initiatives, serving as co-lead of the AACP Well-Being and Resiliency Community and as a representative at large for the Council of Faculties. She also coordinates PGY1 and PGY2 residency well-being programs and leads faculty development in well-being and resiliency.
She is affiliated with the Office of Well-Being at UMMC and contributes to the Well-Being Elixir platform, promoting wellness resources through social media (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
