Seena Fazel is a Professor of Forensic Psychiatry at the University of Oxford, where she directs the Centre for Suicide Research and co-leads the Data Science theme at the Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre. She is an Honorary Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist with Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and a Senior Associate at Pembroke College.
Research Interests: Her work focuses on the intersections of mental health and criminal justice, including violence risk assessment, suicide prevention, and pharmacoepidemiology of psychotropic medications. Using population-based datasets from Sweden, Finland, and Denmark, she examines modifiable risk factors for violence, suicide, and recidivism, with recent studies on β-blockers, gabapentinoids, and antipsychotics.
